Rent to own a car in Dubai if you are self-employed
A trade licence and money coming in is enough. There is no salary certificate in this and no bank.
The problem is the paperwork, not the money
If you run a small business on a trade licence, your income is real but it does not look like a salary. There is no employer letter, no fixed transfer on the 28th, and often no AECB history at all. Bank car finance is built around exactly those three things, so the application fails before anyone looks at whether you can afford the car.
What is looked at instead
- That money comes in regularly, in whatever form it comes in.
- That you have been in the country and in business for a while.
- Emirates ID, a UAE driving licence and a security cheque.
No salary certificate. No three months of bank statements. No credit bureau report.
One thing to be clear about
A car on a private plan cannot be used for Uber or Careem. Ride-hailing in Dubai needs commercial plates through a limousine company. If that is what you need the car for, say so at the start and you will be pointed to the right route instead of signing the wrong contract.
