Zero Down Payment Car Offers in the UAE: What They Really Mean

If you are looking for zero down payment car offers in the UAE, the short answer is this: almost all of them come from banks and dealers, and they ask for a salary transfer, a salary certificate and a credit bureau check. Gleeven is a different route in Dubai, rent-to-own with no bank, but there is a payment at the start, because that payment is what buys the car you pick.

What "zero down payment" usually means here

When a bank or a dealer in the UAE advertises zero down payment, they mean the bank finances the full price of the car, or close to it. You do not pay 20 percent at the start. Instead you pay it back inside the monthly instalments, with interest.

To get that, the bank normally wants:

If you have all of that, a bank loan is often the cheapest way to own a car in the UAE. We will say that plainly. If you are self-employed on a trade licence, paid without a salary transfer, new in the country, or you have an old file at the bureau, that is where the zero down payment offer stops working for you.

What Gleeven asks for, stated plainly

Gleeven is rent-to-own in Dubai. You pick a car from our stock, you pay a part of the car price at the start, then you pay a fixed amount every month for 24 or 36 months depending on the car. At the end the car is transferred to you.

Two things we want you to read carefully, because they answer the search you just made:

The starting payment is different for every car, and so is the monthly payment and the term. Both live on the car listing on gleeven.com with the current stock, and they change as cars move. That is why you will not find a number in this article.

There is also no balloon payment and no final lump sum. The last monthly payment is the last payment.

Read the last row again. A bank is cheaper for a person who qualifies. Gleeven exists for the person who does not, or who does not want to open a file with a bank at all.

What is inside the monthly payment, and what is not

On most of our plans, the monthly payment includes comprehensive insurance and the agreed servicing schedule. You do not get a separate bill for the service or a renewal bill for the insurance in the middle of the term.

What is not included:

One more limit, and it matters for a lot of people who search for cars this way. A car on a private rent-to-own plan cannot be used for Uber or Careem in Dubai. Ride-hailing needs commercial plates through a limousine company. If that is your plan for the car, this is not the right product for you.

Documents, and who you sign with

To start, we need:

No salary certificate, no bank statement, no AECB report. We do not promise that every application is accepted, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can say is that the decision is ours and not a bank's, and the credit bureau is not part of it.

The cars listed on the site are our own stock. You sign with Carborn Car Rental L.L.C, licensed in Dubai under trade licence 1144437, which trades as Gleeven. During the term the car is registered to the owning company, and it transfers to you at the end, as written in the contract.

Questions people ask

Do you have a zero down payment offer? +
No. There is a payment at the start with Gleeven, and it goes towards buying the car you pick. It is not a deposit. Nothing else is charged on top of it and the monthly payment.
How much is the payment at the start? +
It is different for every car, because it is a part of that car's price. The amount is shown next to each car on gleeven.com along with the monthly payment and the term.
Do you check my credit record or ask my employer? +
The credit bureau (AECB) is not checked and we do not ask for a salary certificate or a salary transfer. We need your Emirates ID or passport with a valid UAE visa, a UAE driving licence, and a security cheque.
Is there a balloon payment at the end? +
No. There is no final lump sum. The last monthly payment of the 24 or 36 month term is the last payment, and then the car is transferred to you as written in the contract.
Can I drive for Uber or Careem with the car? +
No. A car on a private rent-to-own plan cannot be used for ride-hailing in Dubai. That work needs commercial plates through a limousine company.
